How Does Braille Work?
Braille is a tactile writing system used by people who are blind or visually impaired. Characters are formed using combinations of six raised dots arranged in a 3×2 grid. The presence or absence of a dot at each of the six positions determines the specific letter, number, or punctuation mark.
This tool generates Grade 1 Braille (Uncontracted Braille). This means every letter of the alphabet is translated one-for-one. (Note: Grade 2 Braille uses contractions and abbreviations to save space on physical paper, which is more complex and depends heavily on context).
