Choose a tool by the result you need
Start with the unit you want to change: lines, words, code points, numeric values or parsed columns. Preview one operation at a time and keep an original. Cleaning can remove meaningful whitespace, distinctions or entire records; a cleaner result is not necessarily an equivalent result.
| Your task | Tool | Output | Important limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Change capitalization or naming style | Change Case Tool | Twelve text formats | Unicode case changes can expand text; identifiers still need review. |
| Order line items | Sort Lines Tool | Sorted or explicitly shuffled plain lines | English collation and digit-run ordering are different modes; choose deliberately. |
| Replace a phrase or pattern | Find and Replace Tool | Reviewed Apply snapshot | Literal and JavaScript regex replacements have different dollar-token semantics. |
| Reverse list order | Flip List Tool | Original physical line items in reverse order | Output normalizes line endings to LF; this does not reverse letters. |
| Inspect text counts | Count Words/Characters - Stats Tool | Word/sentence segmentation and Unicode counts | UTF-16 units, code points and graphemes are different; receiving fields may count differently. |
| Label each line | Add Prefix/Suffix - Line Editor | Literal prefixes and suffixes on physical lines | Check whether blank lines should be skipped; original line endings are retained. |
| Change physical breaks | Add/Remove Line Breaks | Joined or transformed lines | Optional trimming and empty-line removal can change source whitespace; output uses LF. |
| Join several items | Merge Lines Tool | One text result with a custom separator | Optional item cleanup can change whitespace. This is not a quoted CSV parser. |
| Separate a text list | Split Text Tool | Items split at a literal delimiter | Escape decoding, trimming and empty-item removal are deliberate options. |
| Read one column | Extract Column Tool | A selected column from parsed records | Choose quoted CSV or literal delimiters; header skipping changes which rows are returned. |
| Reorder two columns | Swap Columns Tool | Records with two fields exchanged | Choose the input grammar and inspect quoted fields and record boundaries. |
| Adjust whitespace | Trim Whitespace Tool | Trimmed edges or deliberately removed whitespace | Removing recognized whitespace can delete line breaks; hidden controls are not all whitespace. |
| Keep unique list items | Remove Duplicates from List | First-occurrence retained lines | Case, edge-space and NFC matching options affect what counts as a duplicate. |
| Clean blank rows | Remove Empty Lines | Retained lines or normalized existing blank gaps | Exact empty and whitespace-only rows differ; review edge trimming. |
| Simplify supported Latin accents | Remove Accents - Text Normalization | Five cleanup modes with optional mappings | Strict ASCII deletion can lose unsupported text; it is not universal transliteration. |
| Delete chosen code points | Remove Specific Characters | Text after an explicit deletion rule | A code point may be part of a combined character. Review removal and space-collapse counts. |
| Filter whole rows | Remove Lines by Keyword | An applied retained-line snapshot | Any saved keyword or Unicode regex can remove an entire line; inspect before export. |
| Remove recognized emoji clusters | Remove Emojis Tool | Filtered text and removal counts | Pinned Unicode 17 matching has a defined repertoire; text-symbol and spacing choices are separate. |
| Read text from HTML source | Remove HTML Tags | Parser-based text or basic Markdown | Not browser-rendered page extraction. Structural breaks, entities and link options affect output. |
| Number physical lines | Add Line Numbers | Six prefix styles and optional TXT export | Start, step and blank-line skipping change numbering; it is not a code editor. |
| Group decimal values | Add Commas to Numbers | One value or labelled values per line | Choose input notation and output style; do not treat arbitrary prose or CSV as one number. |
| Adjust prose punctuation | Replace Straight with Smart Quotes | Six quote-conversion modes | Heuristics are not a syntax parser. Review code, measurements and unusual punctuation. |
| Change indentation characters | Convert Tabs/Spaces | Fixed-size tab or space-group replacements | Not visual tab-stop alignment; choose leading indentation or the entire text. |
| Extend a line to a chosen length | Pad Text to Length | Left, right or both-side padding | A single padding grapheme can have different display width. Truncation is explicit. |
| Wrap by a logical width | Word Wrap Tool | Soft, hard or paragraph-reflowed text | Grapheme width is not pixel or terminal-cell width; reflow changes existing breaks. |
| Adjust gaps or reflow paragraphs | Justify Text | Justified lines or normalized ASCII gaps | Inspect final lines and over-width content; font and destination affect alignment. |
| Add leading alignment spaces | Center Text | Four centering modes | Logical cluster counts do not guarantee visual centering in a proportional font. |
| Compare approximate mirrored text | Text Mirror Tool | Unicode substitutions or per-line reversal | Lookalike substitutions are approximate, not graphical reflection or exact recovery. |
Check a small example first
Open the tool, try a short sample and compare the output with the task above. Read its supported-input and error guidance before using a longer passage. If Copy fails, use the tool’s selectable output where available. Check what survives when you paste into the destination.
Handling your input and saved results
Browser-based processing does not establish that every site feature has identical data handling. Storage, clipboard, download, sharing and third-party site services are separate concerns. Use a non-sensitive sample when exploring tools and read the Privacy Policy for the site’s stated practices.
