Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

This page lists the cookies and browser storage entries that TextToolboxand the services it loads can place on your device. It was checked against the site's code and a live browser test on October 24, 2026. For what data is collected and why, read the Privacy Policy.

1. Cookies set by the site itself

TextToolbox does not set any cookies of its own. The site code does not write to document.cookie. Text you type into a tool is processed in your browser and is not stored in a cookie.

2. Cookies from Google services

Two Google services load on the site's pages, and each can set cookies in your browser. Which cookies appear depends on your browser settings and on Google's own configuration, so the names below are examples, not a complete list.

  • Google Analytics: measures how visitors use the site, for example page views and traffic sources. Its cookies typically start with _ga. See how Google uses cookies.
  • Google AdSense:the AdSense code is loaded on the site's pages. It can set cookies from Google's advertising domains, for example a test cookie from doubleclick.net, even when no advertisement is shown. When ads are shown, such cookies can be used to personalise them. See how Google uses data in advertising.

On your first visit a banner asks you to choose Accept All or Reject Non-Essential. Until you choose, and if you reject, the site tells Google to treat analytics and advertising storage as denied (Google Consent Mode). In a browser test, no Google Analytics cookies were set in that state; Google may still receive limited, cookieless signals. If you accept, both services may set the cookies described above. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

3. Browser storage the site uses

Browser local storage is not a cookie and is not sent to a server by the site. TextToolbox uses it to remember a few preferences on your own device. These are the keys found in the code:

Local storage keys used by TextToolbox
KeyWhat it remembers
texttoolbox_cookie_consentYour Accept All or Reject Non-Essential choice, so the banner is not shown again.
themeYour light or dark colour choice, saved once you change it with the theme button.
recent-toolsThe last tools you opened, shown on the home page. The home page has a button to clear it.
texttoolbox_recent_emojisEmojis you recently picked in the Emoji Picker.
favoriteFacesText faces you marked as favourites in the Lenny Face tool.
fancyTextGeneratorFavoritesFont styles you marked as favourites in the Font Generator.
unicodeTextGeneratorFavoritesStyles you marked as favourites in the Unicode Text Generator.
igBioFavoritesBio drafts you marked as favourites in the Instagram bio tool.

Some tools also keep temporary choices only while the page is open. Those are lost when you close or reload the tab.

4. How to control or remove them

  • Change your choice with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
  • Delete or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking storage means favourites, recent tools and your theme choice will not be remembered.
  • Opt out of personalised ads in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info/choices.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Clear one tool's saved list from its own button where it has one. Clearing the home page's recent tools does not clear the other keys above.

5. Changes and contact

If the site starts using different cookies or changes how consent works, this page and the Privacy Policy will be updated and the date above will change. Questions go to contact@texttoolbox.net.
